The participant knows the mediation process and can apply its elements in sequence for handling simple, emotionally non-burdensome conflict situations.

The participant can perceive the dynamics of “mediation as a process” both emotionally and substantively, and respond to maintain dynamic balance.

As a receiver, the participant can understand the content conveyed by the communicator.

The participant can identify their own involvement in specific conflict situations and act independently of their involvement, detaching from their personal strategies regarding possible solutions.

Assessment and Evaluation Methods

Form of Assessment
Practical, interactive

Frequency of Assessment
Linked to situational exercises within the module

Content of Assessment
Practice of mediation (applying theoretical knowledge in mediation situations, mobilizing mediation skills, managing situations according to expected attitudes)

Methods for Checking Adult Learners’ Knowledge
Mediation situational exercises, followed by evaluation based on a standardized three-part framework (self-assessment by the mediator, reflection of the assisted person’s experience, observer feedback). Situational exercises are conducted in the second half of the training in groups of three, with the trainer evaluating each group independently, ensuring the objectivity of the assessment based on self-evaluation.

Grades Obtainable
Pass / Fail

Evaluation Criteria for Situational Exercises

  1. The mediator established a trustful atmosphere
  2. The mediator accurately identified the problems
  3. The mediator uncovered patterns, behaviors, personality issues, and interests underlying the problems
  4. The assisted person’s intentions and vision regarding the problem were clearly articulated
  5. The mediation process was concluded with mutual agreement
  6. The mediator maintained appropriate dynamic balance for the participants and the process itself
  7. The mediator’s attention was focused and appropriate for the situation and participants
  8. The mediator remained independent from the problem emotionally and substantively, without becoming involved

Each evaluation criterion is rated on a six-point scale by all three evaluators. Conditions for achieving a “Pass” grade (independent of each other):

-No evaluator rated any criterion as 1

-The total number of 2’s among all evaluation results (8 criteria x 3 evaluators) does not reach eight

Consequences of Unsuccessful Performance
Re-taking the situational exercise in the mediator role. If no additional situational exercise can be conducted during the training, the participant has the opportunity to demonstrate the required competencies in a separate workshop.

Requirement for Examination
No professional examination is associated with the training.
